17 strategic enterprises establish operations in Hong Kong

The new partners span a variety of high-tech industries.

Seventeen strategic enterprises have signed agreements to establish or expand their operations in Hong Kong.

The companies, from sectors including life and health technology, artificial intelligence, fintech, and advanced manufacturing, will set up their global or regional headquarters in the city.

The signing ceremony, held by the Office for Attracting Strategic Enterprises (OASES) and attended by Financial Secretary Paul Chan, marks a major boost to Hong Kong’s innovation and technology sector.

Strategic enterprises, including about 50 firms previously attracted by the OASES, are also expected to invest around $42 billion in Hong Kong over the next few years. This is projected to create over 17,000 new jobs.

Chan noted that over 90% of companies from previous batches of OASES have already begun operations, with nearly 70% choosing to base themselves at the Science Park or Cyberport.

He added that upcoming policies, including more investments in innovation, the development of the Northern Metropolis, and closer ties with the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, will further support these enterprises.
