Property sales surge 17.1% in 2024

4,422,060 land register searches were made last year.

Property sales in Hong Kong went up 17.1% year-on-year in 2024, with the Land Registry receiving 67,979 sale and purchase agreements for all building units.

The total consideration for these agreements in 2024 was $534.14b, up 11.8% YoY but 3.7% down compared with 2022.

The number of assignments of building units for 2024 was 79,073, down 8.5% on the previous year and 8% lower compared with 2022.

The total consideration for these assignments was $485.34b, down 17.7% compared with 2023 and 29.8% less than the figure for 2022.

There were 4,422,060 land register searches made last year.
