No new capacity added to Hong Kong’s data centre market: report

The market’s aggregate supply stands at 988 MW.

Hong Kong’s data centre market saw no growth in its supply in Q1, Knight Frank reported.

Based on Knight Frank’s Data Centre report, the city’s aggregate supply stands at 988 megawatts, with no new capacity added since the end of 2022.

On the demand side, however, Knight Frank said Hong Kong has continued to exhibit robust activity, thanks to cloud providers and financial institutions.

As of the end of Q1, the live capacity of the city’s data centre market is 472MW, whilst its total capacity stood at 989MW.

The top players in the market include SUNeVision iAdvantage (19%, 92MW), NTT Communications Corporation (13%, 63MW), Global Switch (13%, 60MW), Equinix (9%, 44MW), and Vantage Data Centers (8%, 36MW).
