Gov’t to assist building owners in maintenance

Secretary for Home & Youth Alice Mak said they are alerted by falling concrete.

The government authorised concerned departments to help property owners seek professional help in maintaining their buildings.

Mak, addressing a radio programme, said the Development Bureau has already convened a meeting with the Buildings Department, the Urban Renewal Authority, and the Home Affairs Department to discuss the mechanism to help to build owners maintain their own properties.

“We will continue to reach out to the owners in need and provide them with suitable advice and help them seek suitable and relevant professional services,” said Mak.

On District Services & Community Care Teams, Mak said the 16 district care teams are expected to be created in the coming two months.

“For the care teams set up in Tsuen Wan District and Southern District, those care team members have already provided various services to people living in the two districts,” she added.
