Buildings department greenlights 8 building plans in May

Of the plans approved, three are on Hong Kong Island.

The Buildings Department approved eight building plans in May.

Of the plans approved, three are on Hong Kong Island, three are on Kowloon, and two are in New Territories. 

Five of the eight approved plans were for apartment and apartment-commercial developments, whilst the rest were for commercial developments (2) and community services development (1).

“Consent was given for works to start on 13 building projects which, when completed, will provide 156,701 sq m of gross floor area for domestic use involving 4,521 units, and 49,257 sq m of gross floor area for non-domestic use,” the Buildings Department said.


The department added that it received notification of the commencement of superstructure works for 12 building projects.

Meanwhile, the department also issued 15 occupation permits comprising five on Hong Kong Island, four in Kowloon, and six in the New Territories.

“Buildings certified for occupation have 8,905 sq m of gross floor area for domestic use involving 282 units and 27,083 sq m for non-domestic use,” the government said.
