Vicon Holdings CEO bags accolade at HKB Management Excellence Awards

His leadership allowed the company to achieve a revenue growth of 166.3% and transform into a profitable entity.

Chow Kwok Chun, the CEO of specialist foundation contractor Vicon Holdings, took home the Executive of the Year - Heavy Civil Construction title at the sought-after Hong Kong Business (HKB) Management Excellence Awards 2024 for his successful leadership in overseeing the company’s general management and overall strategic planning.

Through his leadership, Vicon achieved an outstanding revenue growth of 166.3%, demonstrating remarkable financial progress. Furthermore, it was successfully transformed from a loss-making entity to a profitable company, showcasing its ability to adapt and thrive in the market.

Amongst the company’s major milestones under Chow’s leadership is the successful completion of a groundbreaking foundation project in Q4 of 2023 with a contract sum of approximately $600m. This project marks the largest contract sum ever achieved in Vicon’s history. “This significant accomplishment showcases the Group's capabilities and reinforces its position as a leader in the industry,” the company said.

The project has also achieved an exceptional environmental milestone by surpassing the minimum requirements and striving for a Platinum award from the Hong Kong Green Building Council. Vicon highlights the project’s commitment to sustainability, which goes beyond expectations and sets a high standard for environmental performance.

His expertise in such projects would not have been possible without his 20 years of accumulated experience in the construction industry, as well as his educational attainments in civil and geotechnical engineering from the University of Newcastle.
