Kai Tak construction firms face bid suspension

A contractor and subcontractor were involved in a fatal incident.

The Development Bureau suspended a contractor and subcontractor involved in a fatal industrial incident at a Kai Tak construction site from bidding on public works contracts. 

Both were listed on approved contractor lists.

They must undergo an independent safety audit and implement improvement measures before the suspension is lifted. This applies to ongoing tender processes as well. 

A government department is investigating the incident, and further regulatory actions will follow based on the findings.
