Gov’t refuses contractor's renewal application
The company will be removed from the general building contractors register on 20 June.
The Buildings Department has refused the application for registration renewal of Aggressive Construction Company, Secretary for Development Bernadette Linn said.
The company was involved in three serious incidents between 2020 to 2023, which resulted in a total of five deaths.
The company's registration expired in April 2023, and its renewal application was rejected after a review.
It's currently the main contractor for six projects, three of which involve public residential housing.
The department notified the company of its removal from the general building contractors register on 20 June, barring it from all building works under the ordinance from that date.
To minimise the impact on current workers and subcontractors, the government encourages new contractors for the projects concerned to prioritise current workers and subcontractors.
