Informa Markets Asia, HKECIA partner to drive sustainability in exhibitions

The initiative aims to eliminate disposable exhibition stands by encouraging the use of reusable and cost-effective alternatives.

Informa Markets Asia (IMA) and the Hong Kong Exhibition & Convention Industry Association (HKECIA) have joined forces to promote sustainability in the exhibition industry.

The initiative, pioneered by Informa, aims to eliminate disposable exhibition stands by encouraging reusable and cost-effective alternatives.

The programme categorises stands based on their sustainability levels—Disposable, Bronze, Silver, or Gold—to encourage industry-wide adoption of greener practices.

Looking ahead, the partnership will focus on educational workshops to equip industry stakeholders with the necessary knowledge to transition to sustainable practices. Additionally, the programme’s expansion across Hong Kong’s exhibition sector will be a key priority.
