Hong Kong, Etihad airlines relaunch shared flight codes, loyalty programmes

They now share HX and EY flight codes whilst passengers can earn miles from the two carriers.

Hong Kong Airlines and Etihad Airways relaunched their codeshare partnership and a loyalty programme for both of their passengers.

Under the new codeshare arrangement, Hong Kong Airlines placed its “HX” code on Etihad Airways-operated flights between Hong Kong and Abu Dhabi.

In return, Etihad Airways placed its “EY” code on Hong Kong Airlines-operated flights between Hong Kong and Japan, covering destinations including Fukuoka, Sapporo, Okinawa and Osaka.

The first codeshare flight between the two airlines was concluded 3 November 2025.

The two airlines plan to launch their reciprocal loyalty programme in the coming months.

The programme will allow members of Hong Kong Airlines’ Fortune Wings Club (FWC) and Etihad Airways’ Etihad Guest to earn and redeem miles when travelling across both carriers’ networks.

FWC members can earn club reward and status points when flying on Etihad Airways-operated services between Hong Kong and Abu Dhabi, whilst Etihad Guest members flying on designated Hong Kong Airlines services can earn guest miles and tier miles.
