HK Express re-enters Malaysian market in new Penang route
The company expects an influx of travellers with recent visa exemptions.
HK Express Airways launched its new route to Penang International Airport in Malaysia, marking the airline’s re-entry into the Malaysian market.
“As this year coincides with the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Malaysia, along with the recent extension of visa exemptions between both countries, we anticipate an influx of mainland Chinese travellers to Penang,” said HK Express CEO Jeanette Mao.
Cathay Pacific operates a daily flight between Hong Kong and Penang, whilst HK Express’ night flights complement this service.
HK Express has launched new routes in two other destinations, Bangkok's Don Mueang International Airport, and Clark in the Philippines. It will start services to Phu Quoc in Vietnam next month.
