HK Express launches Hualien route
To meet Chinese New Year demand, the airline will operate seven flights per week for two weeks.
HK Express Airways (HK Express) officially launched its new route connecting Hong Kong to Hualien Airport (HUN) on 12 December.
The route, which operates four times a week, marks Hualien’s first international scheduled service.
To meet demand during the Chinese New Year period, the airline will temporarily increase the frequency to seven flights per week for two weeks.
“As Hong Kong’s only low-cost carrier, HK Express is not only committed to providing affordable fares, but also to enabling customers to easily explore major cities through our comprehensive flight network across Asia,” said HK Express CEO Jeanette Mao.
She added that the new route would not only serve as a direct connection for travelers but also strengthen economic and cultural ties between the two cities.
Mao also pointed out the unique appeal of Hualien, known for its stunning natural landscapes, including Taroko Gorge, vibrant night markets, and rich indigenous culture.
The airline currently operates 144 weekly flights to popular Taiwanese destinations, including Taipei, Taichung, and Kaohsiung, offering customers flexibility in choosing their travel routes.
