Gov’t wants to remove South Korea’s ‘unreasonable’ travel rule

The restriction limits Hong Kong flights to land at Incheon International Airport.

Amidst the economic reopening, Hong Kong flagged South Korea’s restrictions to travel flights coming from the market, adding that it has asked to remove such rule.

In a statement, the government has written to South Korea authority to withdraw the rule that only allows passenger flights coming from Hong Kong to land at Incheon International Airport starting 10 January 2023 until next month.

“It considers the restriction - which targets flights departing from Hong Kong - unreasonable,” read the statement.

Hong Kong’s transport and logistics bureau reminded “local airlines to inform affected travellers of the latest flight arrangements as soon as possible and to provide the necessary support and assistance.”
