This marks the airline’s highest monthly passenger total in 2025 to date.
Cathay Pacific carried 2.49 million passengers in July 2025, representing a 24% increase compared to the same month last year.
This marks the airline’s highest monthly passenger total in 2025 to date. For the first seven months of the year, Cathay Pacific transported over 16.1 million passengers, up 27% YoY.
According to the airline, demand in early July was largely driven by long-haul traffic, particularly amongst students and travelers visiting friends and relatives.
The latter half of the month saw increased regional travel, with destinations in South Korea and Southeast Asia noted as key contributors. The passenger load factor reached 85.9%.
Meanwhile, Cathay Cargo carried 140,156 tonnes in July, up 11% from the same period last year. The increase was linked to air freight activity ahead of scheduled tariff changes and ongoing demand from Southeast Asia, especially for machinery and perishables.
HK Express, the Cathay Group’s low-cost carrier, carried 685,784 passengers in July, a 22% YoY increase.
