Home & Youth Affairs Bureau ok's youth hostel project in Kowloon City

Regal Hotels Group and Yan Oi Tong will collaborate on the project.

The Home & Youth Affairs Bureau has approved a youth hostel project at the Regal Oriental Hotel in Kowloon City, offering 80 rooms that will provide up to 160 hostel places. 

Named YOT Hub, this project is the fifth under the Subsidy Scheme for Using Hotels & Guesthouses as Youth Hostels and is a collaboration between Yan Oi Tong and the Regal Hotels Group.

The project aims to provide affordable housing and opportunities for youth development. Tenants will have access to various training, exchange, and internship programmes aimed at helping them understand development opportunities. 

Additionally, the hostel will offer self-enhancement and support services, such as financial management courses, career development workshops, and mental health seminars. Yan Oi Tong also plans to form a youth service team, encouraging young people to collaborate on community activities and volunteer services, further promoting community engagement.

The bureau noted that YOT Hub is well connected by public transport and surrounded by comprehensive community facilities. It added that it will continue working with stakeholders to advance similar youth hostel projects in the future.
