Residential units sales dropped 26% in 2010

11,790 sale and purchase agreements for all building units were received for registration in December.

The sales went down to 26.2% on November but increased 6.1% on December 2009, the Hong Kong Information Services Department said.

The 12-month moving average was 13,562, up 0.4% on November and 21.5% on December in the previous year.

The total consideration of sale and purchase agreements in the month was $53.4 billion, down 27.8% on November but up 24.6% on December 2009.

Among the sale and purchase agreements, 9,328 were for residential units, down 29.3% on November but up 2.4% on December 2009.

The total consideration for sale and purchase agreements in respect of residential units was $39.9 billion, down 32.2% on November but up 14.9% on December 2009.
