How many litres of petrol can Hong Kongers buy with their one month's salary?

Prices of petrol rose by 1.3% in June from January.

An average worker in Hong Kong can buy 712 litres of petrol with their one month's worth of salary, data from Picodi.com showed.

The average monthly net wage of citizens in Hong Kong is $16,658 (US$2,127).

Meanwhile, the average price of one litre of petrol in the city is $23.39 (US$2.99), making Hong Kong the market with the most expensive petrol in the Asia-Pacific region and worldwide.

Compared to 2022, Hongkongers can buy more litres with their one-month salary (712 litres vs 674 litres). This is despite petrol prices rising by 1.3% in the city.
