HKVAX obtains SFC Type 1, 7, and AMLO licences

These licences authorise HKVAX to operate as a regulated virtual asset trading platform in Hong Kong.

Hong Kong Virtual Asset Exchange (HKVAX) has secured Type 1 (dealing in securities) and Type 7 (providing automated trading services) licences from the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC), along with an Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing Ordinance (AMLO) licence.

This allows tex to operate as a regulated virtual asset trading platform in Hong Kong, making it the third regulated platform in the city and strengthening Hong Kong's position as a global virtual asset hub.

HKVAX offers a range of services, including over-the-counter (OTC) trading, exchange, custody services, Security Token Offerings (STO), and Real-World Asset (RWA) tokenisation.

Anthony Ng, Co-Founder and CEO of HKVAX, said that the licences reflect the company’s commitment to compliance and Hong Kong’s ambition to lead in the virtual asset sector. He believes that STOs and RWAs will enhance asset liquidity and create new investment opportunities, aligning with Hong Kong’s goal of becoming an international financial center.

Co-Founder and CTO Simon Liu also highlighted that HKVAX's platform is built on advanced technology, including a robust trading engine, efficient settlement processes, and strong cybersecurity measures. These features support the platform's vision of technology-driven financial solutions.

Moreover, Co-Founder and COO Sam Fok emphasised that HKVAX offers a comprehensive ecosystem that includes end-to-end solutions from asset tokenisation to custody, ensuring security and efficiency.

HKVAX also adheres to high standards for Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) practices, creating a safe trading environment for clients.

The company provides three key services, including efficient OTC brokerage for institutional clients, a 24/7 trading platform, and comprehensive asset custody utilising multi-signature technology and insurance coverage.

Additionally, it is also forming partnerships with brokers, Money Service Operators (MSOs), Exchange Traded Fund (ETF) issuers, and stablecoin providers to create a thriving virtual asset ecosystem.
