LandsD launches 3D map of Kowloon West, New Territories Northwest

It plans to release more maps for other districts.

The Lands Department (LandsD) has launched a 3D visualisation map covering Kowloon West and New Territories Northwest, along with a 3D indoor map of Kowloon West.

The visualisation map includes around 63,600 buildings and 770 infrastructures such as flyovers, footbridges, and subways.

The indoor map provides details for approximately 70 buildings, including government and private facilities, offering floor plans, units, and points of interest, which can support location-based services, tourism, and indoor navigation applications.

Additionally, the "Streetscape 360" feature, which provides 360-degree street-level panoramic views, has been expanded from Kowloon East and Kowloon Central to cover Kowloon West, Lantau, and New Territories Northwest.

The datasets, application programming interfaces, and sample codes are available through the Common Spatial Data Infrastructure Portal, with the online platform "Open3Dhk" offered for free download. The platform aims to assist the innovation and technology sectors and academia in developing web services and smart applications.

LandsD plans to release additional 3D maps for other districts.
