Only 3 in 10 organisations are ‘advanced’ in digital agility

With a lack of progress, Hong Kong retained its 5th rank in the Digital Agility Index.

Despite having the chance to accelerate technology adoption during the pandemic, only three in 10 organisations in Hong Kong were able to advance in their digital agility progress, a study commissioned by software vendor, Workday, revealed.

This means that seven in 10 organisations are lagging in terms of the ability to adapt to business disruption by leveraging digital capability.

With little progress, Hong Kong ranked 5th amongst APAC markets in the Digital Agility Index, unchanged from 2020.

According to the study, a reason for the lack of progress in 88% of organisations is the disconnect between their HR and finance processes.

“For example, with rising inflation and interest rates, only 7% of finance professionals have automation capabilities in place to detect and predict potential financial disruptions,” said Workday.

“At the same time, 47% of IT professionals say that their organisations have monolithic architectures with tactical technology upgrades,” Workday added.
