
Hong Kong admits 1,486 through quality migrant scheme
More than three-fourths of the approved applicants are Chinese.
There were 1,486 people admitted to Hong Kong under the Quality Migrant Admission Scheme from 2008 to 2010.
Secretary for Security Ambrose Lee told legislators Wednesday 76.4% of the successful applicants were Chinese. About 25.6% were aged 25-29, while 25% were 30–34, and 23.6% were 35-39, according to a government report.
About 36% come from the financial and accounting services sector, 16.8% from IT and telecommunications, and 8.6% from arts, culture, broadcasting and entertainment.
Mr Lee said the Government will review the scheme regularly to enhance its operation.
