HK to host over 90 mega events in H1 2025

Around 840,000 tourists are expected to attend next year. 

Deputy Financial Secretary Michael Wong announced that at least 93 mega events will be held in Hong Kong during the first half of 2025. 

The government will continue to promote and attract various mega events to Hong Kong, emphasising quality and quantity. 

He added that the new calendar will help tourists and industry stakeholders plan visits and seize business opportunities by coordinating activities and products with the major events. 

It is projected that roughly 840,000 tourists will attend mega events in the first half of 2025, contributing an estimated $3.3b in spending and adding approximately $1.8b in economic value. 

For 2024, around 2 million tourists are expected to participate in mega events, exceeding the initial estimate of 1.7 million. Their spending is anticipated to total around $7.5b, generating $4.5b in added economic value, surpassing government forecasts.
