IHH unit Gleneagles Hong Kong and SmarTone launch TeleCare SmartHub

It aims to benefit elderly residents and children.

Gleneagles Hong Kong, part of the IHH Healthcare network, and telecom operator SmarTone have launched the first TeleCare SmartHub in Hong Kong's Northern Metropolis.

It will operate nine hours daily starting next month, connecting residents with two to three general practitioners through a dedicated mobile booking app.

The station is equipped with medical devices to measure blood pressure, blood oxygen levels, and other vital signs, providing doctors with real-time data during video consultations.

Following consultations, prescribed medications and sick leave certificates will be delivered to patients' homes or offices within four hours.

Kenneth Tsang, Regional CEO of IHH Healthcare North Asia and CEO of Gleneagles Hospital Hong Kong, said the service is designed to benefit elderly residents and children particularly, and to ease pressure on public hospital waiting times by shifting routine care into the community.
