Hong Kong confirms 4 more H7N9 cases

They were all in Jiangsu.

According to a release, the Centre for Health Protection has been informed of four confirmed human cases of Influenza A (H7N9) in Jiangsu.

The National Health & Family Planning Commission said that the cases involve one man and three women, aged 32 to 83. All are in critical condition. They have tested positive for H7N9.

The Health Department of Jiangsu said a 45-year-old woman patient is a poultry worker.

No epidemiological links have been identified among the four cases so far.

The centre advised travellers, especially those returning from Shanghai, Anhui and Jiangsu, with respiratory symptoms, to wear facial masks and seek medical attention and reveal their travel histories to doctors.

Healthcare professionals should look for travellers who have been in contact with birds or poultry in those places.
