The first Women Wellness Satellite (WWS) in Chai Wan will begin operating on 12 June, offering prevention-focused primary healthcare services for eligible women.
Located at the Chai Wan Health Centre, 1 Hong Man Street, the WWS will be open six days a week, with at least eight hours of service most days and extended hours until 8pm twice weekly.
The 380 sq m facility includes consultation rooms, health assessment areas, and a health education space.
Two more WWSs will open in September in Lam Tin (Kowloon) and Tuen Mun (New Territories). Meanwhile, transitional service points will run at Yau Ma Tei and North Point.
Services include health assessments, cancer screenings, nurse clinics, and doctor referrals when needed.
Women aged 64 or below must register with a District Health Centre or District Health Centre Express to use the services. Eligible users receive a government subsidy and pay a co-payment.
As of June 1, over 680 women have undergone preliminary assessments, with 600+ booking WWS services.
Women on social assistance or medical fee waivers can access preventive care at seven designated public clinics.
