How much do Hongkongers spend on groceries?

Food and non-alcoholic beverages account for 12.1% of locals’ spending on goods and services.

Hong Kong has the highest grocery spending in the Asia Pacific Region at US$306 or $2,393 per month, Picodi.com has found.

The report, however, underscored that the high grocery spending in Hong Kong “can be explained by the overall high prices” in the city.

Meanwhile, Picodi.com also found that 12.1% of what Hong Kongers spend on goods and services go to food and non-alcoholic beverages.

This makes Hong Kong the 11th top market in terms of spending on food and non-alcoholic beverages consumed at home.
