Gov’t to identify new growth points for logistics industry

The Transport and Logistics Bureau will adopt five major strategies, including exploring emerging markets.

The government will identify new growth points for the logistics industry amidst the United States’ new tariff imposition, according to the Secretary for Transport and Logistics and chair of the Logistics Development Council, Mable Chan.

The Transport and Logistics Bureau will adopt five major strategies, including exploring emerging markets, strengthening collaboration with ports in the Greater Bay Area, exempting the import and export licence requirements, deepening international cooperation, and expanding the maritime and aviation networks.

Meanwhile, the bureau will also work with customs to implement more initiatives to facilitate the industry’s development.

Such measures include the Single E-lock Scheme expansion, the Free Trade Agreement Transshipment Facilitation Scheme, and the Air-Land Fresh Lane.
