Tech funds applications roll out

Deadline is on 10 October.

According to a report, the Innovation & Technology Commission is inviting applications for fund support for research and development projects under the 2013 Guangdong-Hong Kong Technology Co-operation Funding Scheme.

The scheme supports technology projects relevant to industry's needs, that will enhance economic development in the Greater Pearl River Delta region.

The scheme has three categories. The first covers projects to be funded by the Innovation & Technology Fund. The second covers projects Mainland authorities will fund. The third covers projects to be funded jointly by Hong Kong and Guangdong authorities, or the Hong Kong and Shenzhen authorities.

There are 27 technology areas under the first category, for which Hong Kong institutions can submit funding applications. The governments of the two sides will also jointly provide fund support for projects in 12 technology areas under the third category.

The application deadline is October 10. Details can be found on the ITF website.
