3,000 retailers to sell designated bags for the MSW charging scheme

These retail points include supermarkets and pharmacies.

Three thousand retail points, including supermarkets, convenience stores, pharmacies, and online platforms, will sell designated bags and labels for the municipal solid waste (MSW) charging scheme.

The waste bags and labels will be available at retail points from the second half of January to February.

The government has been setting up a citywide retail network to facilitate the public to purchase designated bags and labels for the implementation of MSW charging on April 1.

The government has also signed contracts with major chain retailers and continues to process applications to gain more authorised retailers.
