30,200 PRH flats allocated for 2024-25

Of these, 23,300 flats will go to PRH applicants.

The Housing Authority has announced that 30,200 public rental housing (PRH) flats will be available for allocation in the upcoming fiscal year 2024-25.

Out of the total, 23,300 flats will be allocated to PRH applicants, with 2,200 flats reserved for non-elderly one-person applicants under the Quota & Points System, and the remaining 21,100 flats to general applicants.

At least 1,200 flats will also be reserved for residents affected by clearance projects, 300 flats for those affected by Urban Renewal Authority redevelopment in 2024-25, and 700 flats for compassionate rehousing purposes.

Moreover, 3,700 flats will be utilized for various transfer purposes, including under-occupation households and initiatives like the Transfer Scheme for Improving the Living Environment.

In a separate report for the preceding fiscal year 2023-24, the Housing Authority noted an actual allocation of 23,598 flats. The variance from projections was attributed to delays in project completions by the Aggressive Construction Company, resulting in 4,500 fewer newly completed flats than originally estimated.

They also recovered 4,100 more flats than expected through measures against public housing resource abuse and new subsidised sale flats intake.
