Lombard Odier appoints Pranay Gupta as CIO for Asia
Mr. Gupta has over 20 years of experience in investment management and research.
Lombard Odier is further strengthening its capabilities in Asia with the appointment of Pranay Gupta as Chief Investment Officer – Asia, and Global Head of Investment Solutions. Mr Gupta was previously CIO of ING Investment Management (INGIM) Asia Pacific.
Based in Hong Kong, Mr Gupta is responsible for further strengthening Lombard Odier’s investment capability in Asia and delivering customized investment solutions for clients on a global basis. With over 20 years of experience in investment management and research, he oversaw the management of USD 85 billion of institutional, retail and insurance assets across 10 countries in Asia Pacific at INGIM. Mr Gupta was also a member of the Global Investment Leadership Team which oversaw INGIM’s total asset base of USD 484 billion.
Previously, he was deputy CIO of Pearl Group and a senior member of the ABP Investments management team, one of the largest plan sponsors in the world. Mr Gupta also held positions at Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Banking and J.P. Morgan Fleming Investment Management in Asia. He is co-founder of the Global Association of Alternative Investors, a non-profit, investment think-tank of plan sponsors worldwide.
Mr Gupta will report to Vincent Duhamel, a Limited Partner and Head of Asia for Lombard Odier.
