Perception Digital appoints Hong Ming Tao Executive Director

The group tasked Tao to spearhead business development for Android-based mobile devices.

Perception Digital Holdings Limited (“Perception Digital”), announced on Tuesday the appointment of Mr. Hong Ming Tao as new executive director, responsible for spearheading business development of the Group's Android-based mobile devices.

Mr. Tao re-joined Perception Digital in 2008, and has been tasked with devising overall business and marketing strategy for driving the Group's business growth. He is also responsible for supervising the entire Hong Kong and Shenzhen operation, comprising offices with more than 280 staff who are involved in such areas as sales and marketing, research and development, manufacturing, quality assurance and project management, according to a Perception Digital report.

During his first tenure with Perception Digital, prior to 2008, Mr. Tao facilitated the Group's growth from what was still an embryonic stage to becoming a profit making company with revenue of USD 40 million – encompassing a period of four years. He also helped the Group establish business ties with key international players, including Philips, Thomson, Radioshack and Sandisk.

Prior to joining Perception Digital, Mr. Tao served as the business director of Shenzhen Sang Fei Consumer Communications Company Limited (formerly a subsidiary of China Electronics Corporation Holdings Company Limited that focuses on the design, manufacture and sale of mobile phones. Mr. Tao successfully launched one product line within a tight project schedule, achieving strong results during his tenure of service. Still earlier on, Mr. Tao was a senior business development manager of VTech Communications Limited, and was also a board member of the Strategic Business Unit.

Mr. Tao was responsible for business development and project management, in addition to formulating overall strategy for the company's contract manufacturing business. He was able to assist the company achieve revenue growth of about 30% each year for three consecutive years and bolster its customer base from 10 to 40 worldwide within two years.
