Health Bureau adds 16 drugs to Chronic Disease Pilot Scheme

The addition includes anti-hypertensive drugs.

The Health Bureau has expanded the coverage of the basic-tier drug list under its Chronic Disease Co-care Pilot Scheme (CDCC Pilot Scheme) to 59 items.

The 16 additional drug items cover anti-hypertensive drugs, lipid-regulating drugs, antibiotics and drugs for treating associated health problems.

The expansion provides family doctors with greater flexibility in prescribing drugs according to the clinical needs of participants.

Under government subsidy, participants prescribed drugs on the list will not be required to pay for such medication.
