Hongkong Land surpasses halfway mark in 2030 carbon reduction target
It achieved a 29% reduction in scope 1 and 2 emissions from the 2019 baseline.
With a 29% reduction in scope 1 and 2 carbon emissions from the 2019 baseline, Hongkong Land has surpassed the halfway point of its 2030 science-based carbon reduction target.
Hongkong Land attributed this achievement to various programs and projects launched in collaboration with partners last year.
In 2023, Hongkong Land launched the Tenant Sustainability Partnership Programme (TSPP) to promote environmental and social efforts, incentivising participants for hitting sustainability goals and fostering a culture of sustainability amongst tenants.
The company also initiated the WOMEN in CENTRAL campaign, partnering with tenants to host discussions and events, attracting over 300 participants.
In addition, Hongkong Land and retail tenants at LANDMARK launched the "Sustainable Shopping Rewards" program, urging shoppers to opt for sustainable products, facilitating dialogue between luxury brands and consumers, and raising awareness about sustainable consumption.
The company also initiated the HOME FUND community program where they partnered with over 100 NGOs and invested $110m, benefitting 240,000 people.
Lastly, Hongkong Land's central portfolio buildings achieved LEED EBOM Platinum status and earned recognition from top international ESG ratings.
