Four digital transformation trends crucial for business operations
These trends include industrial metaverse, and cybersecurity, amongst others.
Microsoft Hong Kong said digital transformation is now mandatory for every organisation in Hong Kong, identifying four technology trends that are on the top of mid for C-suites and “will be central to business success.”
In a statement, Microsoft said the industrial metaverse is amongst the trend amongst businesses which empowers organisations to “innovate their business operations and set new quality standards with internet-of-things, digital twins and mixed reality.
Data and artificial intelligence are also gaining traction as adopting such technology enables organisations to transform their business models and enhance customer experience.
Microsoft added that cybersecurity is becoming part of businesses as this protects organisations from end-to-end through comprehensive protection in the aspects of security, compliance, identity, device and data management.

“The future of cybersecurity will be a collective effort that will involve looking at where technology and human expertise are headed, as well as why creating a more inclusive and diverse security workforce, especially with the growth of the decentralized enterprise (or remote workers),” it said.
The last trend identified by Microsoft is sustainability. It said that having unified data and automation will allow organisations to record, report and reduce environmental impact.
Ways eyed by many businesses to achieve sustainable chains to remove environmental impact and carbon footprint include migrating their infrastructure and workload to the cloud. Aside from reducing the carbon footprint, Microsoft said this will also strengthen hybrid work.
