Three-quarters of employees want to move within GBA for career prospects: KPMG
Better industry prospects is the top motivator for those who want to relocate.
Almost three-quarters of Hong Kong employees said they consider moving within Greater Bay Area cities to pursue job opportunities, said KPMG.
About 78% of professionals are also most motivated to relocate to other GBA cities or the region for better career and industry prospects.
Apart from new immigration policies, Hong Kong is also an attractive location “due to family considerations such as education for children, personal career development and the ability to broaden their horizons.”
“Career prospects and higher incomes are key motivations for talent to consider relocation within the Greater Bay Area. Companies should have a mobility policy in place to encourage skilled personnel to move and work in different cities,” said Kitty Lu, director for executive search and recruitment at KPMG China.
“Subsidies may need to be offered to staff as incentives, including housing and transportation allowances and additional medical insurance,” Lu added.
