Wego, HKTB partner to promote Hong Kong in MENA
The campaign comes amidst rising outbound travel from the MENA region, especially during peak holiday seasons.
Wego, a leading online travel marketplace in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), has announced a partnership with the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) to promote Hong Kong as a travel destination for MENA-based tourists.
The collaboration aims to increase awareness of Hong Kong’s tourism offerings, particularly amongst travellers seeking a mix of urban experiences, cultural sites, and nature-based activities.
The campaign comes amidst rising outbound travel from the MENA region, especially during peak holiday seasons.
As part of the initiative, Wego and HKTB will launch a series of co-branded digital campaigns, influencer collaborations, and content marketing efforts to showcase various aspects of Hong Kong, including street markets, culinary scenes, theme parks, and sustainable tourism options.
Becky Ip, Deputy Executive Director of the Hong Kong Tourism Board, noted that the Middle East is a focus area for the city’s tourism outreach. She highlighted features such as visa-free access for Gulf Cooperation Council nationals and strong air connectivity as factors supporting travel growth from the region.
The campaign is part of ongoing efforts by tourism authorities to engage international markets as global travel activity continues to recover.
