HKTDC takes home win at HKB Greater Bay Area Enterprise Awards 2022

GoGBA platform helps global businesses tap the immense opportunities in the Greater Bay Area.

The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) has bagged the HKB Greater Bay Area Enterprise Awards 2022 in the Non-Profit or Government Organisations category for its brand-new initiative, the GoGBA one-stop platform.

The digital platform, comprising the Go-GBA.com website and a WeChat mini programme, helps Hong Kong businesses especially SMEs navigate GBA business opportunities and overcome the challenges brought by the pandemic and disruptive changes in global trade with wide-ranging support including online and offline promotion events, support and advisory services, and market intelligence.

Developed with the support from the Hong Kong SAR government and leveraging the HKTDC’s strengths, the platform is the first of its kind to bring together official policy information from across the Greater Bay Area and offer real-time updated business travel tools including days-of-stay counter, pandemic updates, emergency services, maps and transport schedules.

The HKTDC fully demonstrated its commitment to providing innovative business support solutions and versatility in tackling new challenges during the developing stage of the WeChat mini programme. The team proactively sought solutions to overcome technical constraints and successfully secured the support of Mainland China government agencies, Hong Kong government departments and other strategic partners to launch the mini programme.

The project allowed the HKTDC with the opportunity to be a pioneer in promoting GBA opportunities and offering support to Hong Kong SMEs and international companies doing business in the GBA.

To promote the GoGBA platform and expand the user base of the mini programme, the HKTDC has been reaching out to business chambers and trade associations around Hong Kong and the GBA to introduce the platform and the variety of support services offered.

Since the platform’s launch in June 2021, the Go-GBA.com website and the mini programme have received more than 330,000 organic visits, with the organic page views of the digital channels reaching 590,000 as of December 2022.

The HKB Greater Bay Area Enterprise Awards honours outstanding companies for their excellent performance and commitment to driving collaborative and economic development between Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area.
