Wong is new Consumer Council chief

Ms. Gilly Wong has been appointed the new Chief Executive of the Consumer Council.

He will take office on November 16 and succeeds Connie Lau who is retiring

Secretary for Commerce & Economic Development Gregory So said Wong has ample management experience in the private sector and is currently working with the Tourism Board. He said Wong is well placed to lead the council's management team, adding he looks forward to working with her and the council in furthering consumer rights.

So commended Lau for her efforts in promoting and protecting consumer rights. She is also a member of the Executive Committee of Consumers International, an international federation of consumer organisations.
