Manufacturing industrial productions up 3.7% in 2023

Sewerage, waste management, and remediation activities also saw growth in 2023.

The index for industrial production for manufacturing industries increased by 4.1% in 4Q2023, following a YoY increase of 4.3% in Q3 2023, the Census and Statistcis Deparment reported. 

The corresponding producer price index also increased by 2.7% in 4Q2023, following a YoY increase of 3.0% in Q3 2023.

In the same period, the index of industrial production for sewerage, waste management, and remediation activities increased by 0.5% YoY, after the 2.4% increase in Q3 2023.

However, the corresponding producer price index decreased by 0.3% YoY in Q4 2023 from the YoY increase of 2.3% in Q3 2023.

For the whole of 2023, the indices of industrial production for manufacturing industries and sewerage, waste management, and remediation activities increased by 3.7% and 1.4% respectively compared with 2022.

Meanwhile, the producer price index for manufacturing industries in 2023 increased by 1.6%, while sewerage, waste management and remediation activities remained virtually unchanged compared with 2022.
