Supply chain, procurement firms to create more hybrid jobs

This will be led by e-cigarette and power tool firms.

Organisations in the supply chain and procurement sector, particularly those involved in manufacturing, will be opening more hybrid job opportunities that combine both supply chain and purchasing roles.

In a report, Randstad said this move is driven by companies that are tightening supplier engagements in the North Asia region, led by companies in the e-cigarette and power tool firms present in Hong Kong and Taiwan.

Randstad said the hiring trend this year will follow a similar trend such as downsizing in the electronics and garments segment which will be offset by growth in sustainability.

“Companies will likely expand their procurement teams to increase their capabilities in indirect and services procurement, as they upkeep their digital systems and processes. Financial institutions like banks and insurance firms will also continue to hire, albeit at a slower rate compared to previous years,” it said.

Randstad also said that four in five professionals in the sourcing and supply chain want to switch jobs, with candidates in supply chain, sourcing and engineering expecting a 10% to 15% salary increase in new employers.

Talents in the procurement sector would seek 20% to 25% when changing employers.

Meanwhile, those who will stay in the same company expected a 5% to 7% salary growth.
