Around 85% of goods purchased from Taobao, Tmall are eligible for return.
The logistics arm of e-commerce giant Alibaba, Cainiao Network, has launched a reverse logistics channel that would offer cross-border e-commerce goods return services to Hong Kong customers.
The streamlined reverse logistics channel comprises 42 drop-off locations across Hong Kong and a digital customs clearance system, said Cainiao Network in a media release, noting that the entire return process could be monitored by customers via the Taobao app in real time.
Nearly 85% of goods bought from Taobao and Tmall and delivered by Cainiao Network would be eligible for return within seven days, whilst items such as food and health products or supplements were considered non-returnable.
“There are plans to launch a direct reverse logistics channel with mainland China in other key markets such as Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, Macau, and Russia,” added Cainiao Network.
