Fung Group moves to ease Mainland retail expansion in Alibaba tie-up

They will assist in online and offline distribution.

Hong Kong-based retailer Fung Group has forged a partnership with e-commerce giant Alibaba as it aims to lend support to international firms expanding into the Mainland, reports South China Morning Post.

The partnership will provide global brand recruitment, brands merchandising, marketing and online and offline distribution.

Fung Group will leverage on its 3000-store network to ‘create synergy’ with Alibaba’s digital retail business which serves roughly 600 million users.

“The partnership could merge the strengths of both parties and help customers navigate the Chinese retail economy,” Fung Group chairman Victor Fung told SCMP.

Fung Retailing is a member of the Fung Group which is composed of major subsidiaries in trading and logistics amongst others.
