HKUST first Cisco Wi-fi 6 enabled smart school campus

This will both benefit students and staff in HKUST.

The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology has selected Cisco’s Wi-Fi 6 solutions and Digital Network Architecture (DNA) solutions to power smart campus development, making it the first smart school campus to do so.

The Cisco Wi-Fi 6 solutions will provide reliable network connectivity and deliver a seamless wireless experience for student and staff users with higher density, faster throughput and greater reliability for more effective teaching and learning, collaboration and research.

At the same time, the Cisco DNA solutions help the IT team optimize their network performance, reduce troubleshooting time, and lower the cost of network operations.

According to Dr Samuel Kwan, director of Information Technology Services Center at HKUST, this is a significant step by the university to offer Wi-Fi services based on the state-of-the-art technologies to students and staff who have extensive demands for high-quality wireless connection for advancing their goals in teaching, learning, research and other educational activities.
