Cathay Pacific reveals board changes

Rebecca Jane Sharpe will replace Martin James Murray as chief financial officer.

Local airline Cathay Pacific announced changes to its board on 24 January.

In a media release, Cathay Pacific said Rebecca Jane Sharpe would become the executive director as well as the chief financial officer of the company, succeeding Martin James Murray, effective on 25 January.

Murray would return to Cathay Pacific’s board on 1 April. He would also cease to be a director.

Sharpe has been a director and group director of finance of Hong Kong Aircraft Engineering—a wholly owned subsidiary of Swire Pacific, which holds 45% of Cathay Pacific’s shares—since October 2017. “Except for the fact that she is an employee of the Swire group, Sharpe does not have any relationship with any director or the senior management of Cathay Pacific or with any
substantial or controlling shareholder of Cathay Pacific,” the release added.

Meanwhile, Murray has served as the chief financial officer and a director of Cathay Pacific since November 2011.
