Dock dispute dialogue continues
Contractors submitted better offer.
According to a report, Secretary for Labour & Welfare Matthew Cheung says yesterday’s discussion on the container terminal labour dispute was positive.
Speaking to the media today, Mr Cheung urged the striking workers and unions to continue rational dialogue, which he said is the only way to reach a consensus. He said progress is being made, as the contractors have submitted a better offer.
"I would urge everybody to approach the negotiation sincerely, pragmatically, and also it is important for them to continue the dialogue," he said.
