4,700 housing units completed in 3Q 2014
Overall completions climb to 12,200 units.
In Hong Kong, an estimated 4,700 units were completed in 3Q 2014.
According to a research note from Barclays, together with the 7,500 units that were completed in 1H 2014, this brings 9M 2014 housing completions to 12,200 units.
The report noted that even ignoring the low base of comparison in 2013--only 4,400 units completed through 9M 2013)--this year’s 12,200 unit completion already exceeds the past three year’s completion.
The report also said that relative to the Rating & Valuation Department’s full year estimate of 17,610 units, the 12,200 units through 9M 2014 has now reached 70%.
