Dr Eddy Fong stays as Securities & Futures Commission chief

Financial Secretary John Tsang believes in Fong’s capacity to lead the commission.

Dr Eddy Fong has been reappointed Securities & Futures Commission Chairman until October next year.

Announcing the appointment on Thursday, Financial Secretary John Tsang said Dr Fong, chairman since 2006, has played a pivotal role in leading the commission to maintain and promote a fair, transparent and orderly operation of Hong Kong's securities and futures markets, according to a government report.

Chan Kam-lam and Lawrence Lee have been reappointed as the commission's non-executive directors until November 2013.
