Hongkongers need to spend 10.8 days of income to afford the latest iPhone in 2019: report

This is based on the official price of iPhone 11 Pro 64GB and monthly salary.

A statistical Hongkonger will need to work for 10.8 days without spending anything else at all to be able to buy this year's iPhone, according to aggregator website Picodi.

This is slightly shorter than last year by 0.7 of a day with iPhone XS 64GB.

This is based on the official Hong Kong price of iPhone 11 Pro 64GB at $8,559, and the average gross monthly salary reported by the Census and Statistics Department at $16,928.

Meanwhile, the average Taiwanese will need 18.2 work days, as the iPhone is priced NT$35,900 whilst the mean salary amounts to $43,859.

Meanwhile, the average Swiss will only need 4.8 working days, whilst on the inverse the average Mexican will have to spend 54.2 days worth of income to buy one.
