2,900 vacancies to be unveiled at Wan Chai Job Fair

It'll be held on 14 August.

According to a report, the Wan Chai Job Fair will be held at Southorn Stadium on August 14, offering more than 2,900 vacancies.

The 50 organisations participating at the fair will offer jobs in retail, catering and property management. Participating organisations will set up counters and conduct on-the-spot recruitment. The Construction Industry Council will also introduce the latest training courses and perform skill demonstrations.

Vacancies include posts such as barista, customer service associate, security guard, trolley assistant, salesperson, cashier, shop assistant, waiter/waitress, driver and storekeeper.

About 80% of the vacancies are full-time jobs, and most offer monthly salaries ranging from $7,000 to $13,000. More than 97% require a Secondary Six education level or below, while around 59% are open to job seekers lacking relevant experience.

Job seekers can submit applications on the spot and may be selected for on-site interviews. The department will also conduct on-the-spot registration.

The fair will be open from 11am to 5.30pm at the Southorn Stadium, 1/F, 111 Johnston Road, Wan Chai.
